Unusual porcelain cabinet vase from 1920s/30s Czechoslovakia in the Art Deco style. Deep red background plus 2 hand-painted birds / branches / more in black. (Red appears to be fired on; looking into the neck -- and on the bottom -- you can see the piece\'s white porcelain body.)
5\" tall, 1 3/4\" across foot. Marks underneath include an H. Wehinger & Co \'ginger jar\' inkstamp (1928-38), embossed \'257.\' shape #, and an artist\'s cipher.
Excellent overall condition. Foot is rough with wee no-show nicks; red background is thinner, w/ a golden cast, on one side than the other -- as made; see pic 1, to the right of the bird. Black light revealed some very small, minortouchups to the black branches.
