Although it is marked “22K Gold on Sterling,” the 22K gold overlay/wash appears heavily worn and faded from age and use. The buckle now presents mostly as a silver-tone sterling buckle with patina, tarnish, scratches, scuffs, darkening, and remaining gold-tone areas mostly visible in certain spots/recesses. Please do not expect a bright or fully intact 22K gold finish.The back side has heavier tarnish, discoloration, oxidation, and age-related wear. The belt loop and peg/hook hardware have a brass/gold-tone appearance; I am not sure if those hardware parts are sterling, brass, plated, or another metal. Only the buckle is being sold based on the visible stamp shown in the photos.
