Thank you for visiting Art & Beautiful Things, where we enjoy finding and preserving beautiful pieces from the past. Vintage Christmas decorations and accessories are especially wonderful because each one carries a little bit of holiday history with it.
Offered here is a delightful collection of three vintage packages of Christmas foil gift folders, featuring wonderfully colorful metallic finishes, ornate gold lettering, and charming holiday illustrations. Believed to date to approximately the 1970s–1980s, these festive little folders capture the cheerful, sometimes wonderfully extravagant style of vintage Christmas gift packaging.
The collection includes two matching packages labeled “18 Luxury Foil Folders,” each containing an assortment of three colorful Christmas designs. The first is a lovely soft green with the greeting “Merry Christmas” in elegant lettering. The second is a festive red with decorative gold bells, while the third features a beautiful turquoise-blue background with the word “Peace” surrounded by gold holly leaves and berries.
Even the original packaging is a delight! Bright golden-yellow cardboard backings are decorated with lush evergreen branches, holly, oversized red ribbon bows, and cheerful golden jingle bells. The combination of saturated colors and metallic lettering is wonderfully nostalgic.
The third package is a charming Cleo Classic Elegance assortment, containing 15 foil folders in rich jewel-tone colors. This assortment includes emerald green, brilliant magenta, and deep royal blue, each embellished with elaborate gold-foil Christmas motifs featuring traditional holiday greenery, ornaments, candles, and festive flourishes.
The Cleo package retains its original printed 59¢ price and identifies the Cleo Wrap Corporation of Memphis, Tennessee. Its sophisticated metallic designs provide a lovely contrast to the playful Christmas graphics of the two Luxury assortments.
Vintage Christmas paper goods have a special appeal because they were originally intended to be used and discarded. Finding them still together in their colorful original retail packaging offers a wonderful glimpse into the way holiday gifts were presented in years past.
These would be lovely additions to a collection of vintage Christmas ephemera, retro gift-wrapping supplies, holiday stationery, or nostalgic paper collectibles. They would also be delightful for Christmas scrapbooking, paper crafting, or incorporating into a vintage-inspired holiday display.
This listing includes all three original packages, with a stated total of 51 foil folders.
