Beautiful vintage pair of Chinese soapstone Foo Dog (Fu Lion) bookends, circa 1950s.Rich dark reddish-brown soapstone with excellent detailed carving. Each lion is shown with a playful cub, and the bases feature intricate carved figural scenes.These also function as incense holders — the small holes on the tops are designed for stick incense.Measurements (each approx.):• Height: 8 inches• Width: 3 inches• Heavy solid soapstone — pair weighs approximately 12 lbsCondition: Very Good vintage condition with beautiful natural color and polish.
