Striking vintage Chinese-style metal sculpture depicting the famous Flying Horse of Gansu, also known as the Galloping Horse Treading on a Flying Swallow. The dramatic design features a galloping horse balanced on a small bird beneath one hoof, creating the appearance of the horse flying through the air.
Finished in a dark green verdigris-style patina that gives it an aged bronze appearance. This is a heavy, solid-feeling decorative piece, measuring approximately 8” long x 2” wide x 6.5” tall.
Shows age-related surface wear, patina variation, oxidation/discoloration and small marks throughout, adding to its antiqued character. Exact age, metal composition and origin are unknown. This is being sold as a decorative reproduction, not as an ancient artifact.
