This heavy, high-quality piece is constructed over a solid brass core and features a vibrant, deep royal blue counter-enamel interior and base lining.The hinged lid showcases an intricate, deep relief carving of blooming chrysanthemums—the traditional Chinese symbol of longevity, autumn, and resilience—resting alongside stylized rock formations. The details are carved beautifully over a precise, repeating geometric "earth ground" diaper pattern.The high level of craftsmanship continues seamlessly onto the underside of the box, which features a completely carved, uniform geometric starburst diaper pattern enclosed by a clean, exposed brass rim.
This piece is in exceptional vintage condition. The lacquer is crisp, vibrant, and free of chips, deep cracks, or fading. The blue enamel interior is smooth, shiny, and completely intact with no chipping or corrosion.
