This is a rare hard to find beautiful, authentic vintage Chief Pontiac hand-carved wood wall medallion plaque. This premium piece dates back to the mid-20th century (circa late 1940s to mid-1950s) and was originally used as a high-end General Motors dealership showroom display and presentation piece.
Authenticity Note
This is a genuine vintage historic artifact, NOT a modern CNC laser or routed reproduction. It showcases exceptional post-war artisan craftsmanship, with deep, gorgeous high-relief carving details beautifully separating the swept hair texture and the distinct layered feather design.
Condition Report
Good overall vintage condition with a striking, warm amber lacquer patina built up from decades of age. Because this is a true mid-century survivor, it features a prominent nick along the outer edge rim as well as a few small, minor surface nicks scattered across the plaque.
These character marks add undeniable vintage authenticity to the piece and are completely stable with no deep structural cracks, splits, or repairs. The reverse side features the authentic flat, dark-stained raw hardwood grain and original weathered iron strap loops with twisted hanging wire.
