Charlie Chaplin\'s Little Tramp is one of the most recognized characters in silent film, and this glazed ceramic figure captures him in full costume: bowler hat, toothbrush moustache, curly hair, cane and baggy trousers with oversized shoes. He holds a little bottle, a wink to the Japanese-made novelty decanters and music-box figures that Chaplin collectors have enjoyed for decades. He would look great on a bar cart, a shelf of film memorabilia or a display of vintage barware.
Glazed ceramic figure on an unglazed cream base with a foil \'Made in Japan\' sticker underneath. The bowler hat is a separate hinged piece, hinged at the back of the brim, and the cane and bottle are attached. Figure only; the music base is not included. Weighs about 0.89 lb.
Condition: Good, with honest shelf wear. There is a small glaze chip on one shoe toe showing bare clay, a tiny flake or nick at the back of the hair, and some grime and scuffing on the unglazed base. See photos.
The photos are part of the description, and it will be packed with care for the trip.
