Charming vintage ceramic cup or small vessel featuring a barrel-shaped design with molded wood-grain/stave detailing and raised dark bands.
Finished in a beautiful deep red / oxblood glaze with darker brown-black accents around the barrel bands and rim. The interior is also fully glazed in red.
The bottom has an older, partially worn black maker/import stamp, but I have been unable to positively identify the manufacturer. Based on the construction and styling, this appears consistent with mid-century Japanese decorative pottery, likely circa 1950s–1960s.
