Vintage Cast Pewter Rabbit With Clip Attachment (door knocker?) For Sale

unique little rabbit figurine sitting on a large clip that can be used to hold paperwork, mail... Google search is trying to tell me that it is a vintage door knocker. I don't believe that is the case because the hinge is spring loaded to stay closed. doesn't make any sense as a door knocker.he stands about 3.25 in tall and is 4.5 in Long and 2 in wide. I believe that he is cast in pewter but I'm not 100% positive. there are no makers marks or manufacturers visible. have not seen another one like this online.
