A striking vintage horse sculpture with exceptional presence and character.
This handsome cast-metal horse figurine features a dramatic dark blackened finish beautifully contrasted by warm copper/bronze-tone highlights across the face, mane, shoulders and hindquarters. The sculptor gave this horse an especially graceful, elongated profile with a beautifully modeled mane, flowing tail and nicely defined musculature.
At approximately 9 inches long and 6 inches tall, it is substantial enough to make a statement on a bookshelf, desk, mantel, console or display cabinet.
The underside and construction indicate a hollow cast-metal form. The piece is non-magnetic and weighs approximately 15.8 oz (448 g). Based on construction, weight and finish, it appears consistent with vintage cast pot metal/zinc alloy with a copper/bronze-tone decorative finish.
