Vintage Carved Alabaster Trinket Box Caramel / Honey / Brown Veined Stone

Beautiful vintage small round carved alabaster stone trinket/keepsake box in an unusually attractive honey, caramel and brown coloration with natural flowing veining throughout the stone.
The box and lift-off lid appear to be carved from solid stone and have a lovely polished, slightly translucent/waxy appearance characteristic of alabaster. The natural variations in color and veining make this a particularly attractive decorative object.

The box is suitable for jewelry, small keepsakes, coins, or simply as a decorative object displayed on a dresser, vanity, bookshelf or table.
Nice pre-owned vintage condition. The stone has natural-looking fissures, including a noticeable natural fissure visible inside the box, as well as small edge chips, nicks and surface marks from age and use. Please examine all photographs carefully, as the photos are an important part of the condition description.
I believe the stone is alabaster rather than marble, based on its coloration, veining and appearance. It is likely Italian in origin.
