Offered for sale is a vintage Buck 106 \"Compadre Camp Axe\" hatchet, made in USA circa 1967-1972. This hatchet features a stainless steel blade, a 4-1/8\" head with a 2-1/2\" cutting edge, and black natural canvas micarta handles. Overall length is 10-1/2\". The blade has a tang stamp \"Buck U.S.A.\" Prior to 1968, Buck knives were stamped \"Buck.\" In 1968, Buck added \"USA\" to the tang stamp. By 1973, the model number was added, and by 1986, date code symbols were added to the tang stampings. The knife is in excellent condition overall, showing signs of occasional use and carry. The axe blade appears to be about 97% intact, and shows some minor nicks on the blade edge. Included with the knife is the original leather sheath. This hatchet is very well made, and will provide many more years of service with proper care.Or, it would be right at home in a collection of fixed blade knives.
