Factual condition is Vintage / Honestly Used. This tool was recovered from an active workshop and reflects that history:
The Blade: Features a wonderfully maintained edge that remains sharp. The steel has developed a deep, dark oxidation (patina) and surface pitting characteristic of vintage carbon steel.
The Handle: The original wood scales are solid and securely attached via the full tang. There is a small speck of blue paint on the top of the handle (see photos) and general darkening from handling.
Integrity: No cracks in the wood or bends in the steel. The brass rivets remain tight.
Surface: There are some light workshop residues and "character marks" throughout, but the tool is structurally excellent.
