Absolutely charming vintage blue and white porcelain duck tureen featuring a sculptural resting duck lid and beautifully decorated oval serving bowl. The duck is hand-decorated in soft cobalt and powder-blue tones with painted feather detailing, blue bill and delicate facial features. The base is especially beautiful, with traditional Asian landscape scenes depicting mountains, trees, water and pagoda-style architecture, finished with an ornate repeating blue border around the rim.The removable duck-form lid makes this piece both sculptural and functional. There is a small intentional vent hole at the back of the lid. Gorgeous displayed in a blue-and-white collection, on a kitchen hutch, dining room buffet or styled into a Grandmillennial / Chinoiserie interior.Details* Vintage, likely circa 1970s–1980s
