INTAGE B. OF L.E. BROTHERHOOD OF LOCOMOTIVE ENGINEERS STEAM TRAIN TIE TACK
Attractive vintage railroad-union tie tack featuring a detailed steam locomotive and tender on a black enamel oval face.
The front is marked:
B. OF L. E.
representing the historic Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
This is a complete traditional tie-tack assembly with:
- Oval black enamel locomotive emblem
- Gold-tone tack post
- Removable clutch
- Safety chain
- Buttonhole T-bar
The black enamel background provides strong contrast against the locomotive design, making this a particularly appealing piece of railroadiana and vintage men’s jewelry.
Markings
The tack post appears to be stamped:
1/20 12K G.F.
There may also be a partially legible maker’s marking on the post. A small “A” is visible on the reverse of the oval emblem.
The hallmark is being described conservatively because of its very small size and age-related wear.
Please note: “1/20 12K G.F.” means gold filled—not solid 12K or 14K gold. The metal has not been professionally tested, and no claim is being made that the oval emblem, chain, clutch, or T-bar is solid gold.

Good vintage collectible condition with honest age and wear.
