Vintage Austrian Petit Point Compact with 9,450 hand-stitches. Style No. 5023 floral micro needlepoint brass makeup case with original puff & certificate.
Time capsule find. A mid-century powder compact is a masterpiece of Austrian craftsmanship. Unlike most vintage compacts, this piece retains its original authentication certificate, identifying it as Style No. 5023.
The floral bouquet features a romantic arrangement of roses and garden flowers in vibrant pinks, reds, and blues, set against a classic black ground.
🔷Condition: Beautiful vintage condition. It is a rare complete set, still containing its original powder puff and powder. The original mirror is intact & shows some light hazing & characteristic vintage foxing, which beautifully confirms its mid-century age without compromising its use. Interior brass is bright and shiny but the bottom has some age wear. Petit Point is in terrific condition with no damaged stitched, no fraying and no obvious discoloration due to stains. There is the expected age of the thread that has dulled the colors a little.

🔷Marks: Has original certificate stating the Petit Point took 2 1/2 days stitch, used approx 9450 stiches and was Style No 5023. No other signatures.
