This is a Vintage Art Deco Turrells Fine Footwear Department Store Ladies Shoe Box.At the time of the original listing we had more than 40 listings for vintage advertising items including hosiery, candy, stationary, and powder boxes, advertising banks, framed and unframed print ads, severalsaleman'ssample kits with contents, key fob, fruit and vegetable labels, and other related items.
The shoe box lid has an over-the-top classic Art Deco illustration of a lady hold a shoe up on the palmof her hand for examination, with accompanying Art Deco design details with the TURRELLS logo below. The box appears to be of theArt Deco period, circa 1940s.The end panel has the Turrells logo, the style, number, 9 1/2 AAAAA (indicating super narrow width), and a "975" price that I assume indicates $9.75.The overall maximum dimensions of the box are about 14" x 5 5/8" x 4 1/8".
ConditionThe box isoverall very goodcondition with the exception of a fairly minor, light oval stain on the left side of the lid, and a small worn through corner on the lid, each marked with a blue arrow, as well and some other minor wear and chipping on the edges of the lid.
