Vintage Alaska Native Carved Stone Bone Kayak Hunter Seal Signed J Ayek Ayak For Sale

Authentic Alaska Native (Iñupiaq) miniature kayak sculpture featuring an outfitted hunter with paddle and harpoon, accompanied by a captured seal on the bow and a hunting float (avataq) on the stern. Beautifully hand-carved from natural variegated stone with carved bone/antler implements and scrimshaw-style facial ruff Signed 'J. Ayek' (Ayak) on hull underside

Very Good vintage condition. Both delicate bone implements (paddle and spear) are completely intact, unbroken, and cleanly removable from the hunter's grip. The bow tip features a factory-scored mounting bed where an original bone bow cap has detached over time. The stone hull is structurally sound with no cracks, chips, or repairs. Base is clearly hand-inscribed 'ALASKA' and signed 'J. Ayek'.
