Vintage African Kuba Shoowa Cut-Pile Raffia Textile Wall Art - D.R. of the Congo For Sale

This is a vintage Kuba Shoowa cut-pile raffia textile (often referred to as Kasaï velvet) from the Democratic Republic of Congo in Central Africa. Hand-woven from raffia palm fibers with intricate embroidered and cut-pile geometric pattern. Created by the Shoowa people of the Kuba Kingdom, traditionally crafted as ceremonial or prestige cloths.
“Rigobert Miko” signed on the back side. Shows signs of age, a few areas of discoloration (see photos).
