• This is a fascinating, highly collectible vintage West African tribal bronze figurine, handcrafted in the traditional style of the Ashanti (Asante) people of Ghana. The small-stature figure is sculpted in a striking "hear no evil" posture, with both hands raised tightly to the sides of its head. The piece features the iconic, intricate lost-wax casting technique (cire perdue), where fine wax threads are coiled tightly together to build up the body, head, and facial features before being replaced by molten metal. This gives the entire figurine a distinctive ribbed, wrapped-wire texture. The bottom base is beautifully hollowed out with a smooth interior, showing a rich, authentic aged metallic patina with deep copper, brass, and dark oil undertones. It makes a wonderful addition to any ethnographic art display, curio cabinet, or tribal bronze collection
