This vintage four-piece lot features traditional West African Akan / Ashanti cast brass figures. The collection includes two detailed pirogue canoe boats carrying rowing figures, alongside a separate standing tribal figure with gear on his back.
These pieces are historically used as counterweights for measuring gold dust in Ghana and display the classic textural imperfections of the ancient lost-wax casting technique. The standing figure measures approximately 3.75 inches tall, while the longer canoe spans about 5.25 inches in length.
All pieces feature a beautiful, uncleaned golden brass patina with authentic surface aging, grit in the recesses, and minor shelf wear.
