This is an authentic vintage historical blue transferware individual butter pat plate or small trinket dish produced by the renowned Adams pottery firm of Staffordshire, England. This piece was custom struck for the historic American souvenir distributor Jonroth (John H. Roth & Co.).
The face of the small circular dish displays a beautifully detailed, crisp blue transfer illustration depicting the historic neoclassic architecture of Monticello, labeled below as "MONTICELLO, HOME OF THOMAS JEFFERSON - CHARLOTTESVILLE, VIRGINIA". The reverse base features two distinct underglaze blue crown backstamps verifying its collector pedigree: the "ADAMS ESTD 1657 ENGLAND" maker's mark and the circular "JONROTH ENGLAND" importer seal. It serves as an excellent addition for collectors of antique Staffordshire flow blue style pottery, early American political history, or historical Virginia travel souvenirs.
CONDITION:
Pre-owned vintage condition. The ceramic body is structurally solid with no cracks, hairline splits, or chips along the smooth outer edge or foot rim. The white glazed surface remains bright and glassy. The cobalt transfer graphic is crisp with excellent contrast, showing only standard minor light surface scuffs and typical pinpoint kiln imperfections underneath the glaze from mid-century production.
