Beautiful original vintage floral single bedspread, believed to date from around the 1970s.A wonderfully pretty English country / country cottage piece, with soft pink roses and delicate smaller flowers scattered across an off-white ground, complemented by muted olive and ochre-toned foliage.The deep gathered frill gives it a particularly romantic, old-fashioned look – perfect for an English country bedroom, cottagecore interior, shabby chic room, romantic vintage bedroom or grandmillennial-style scheme. It has that lovely traditional floral aesthetic that works particularly well with antique pine, painted furniture, patchwork, vintage linens and layered country interiors.Designed for a traditional 3ft single bed, it has a lightweight quilted rectangular top with a generous gathered/frilled valance running around both long sides and the foot of the bed. The head end is intentionally left without a valance so it can sit neatly against a wall or headboard.The floral outer is a woven fabric with a cotton-like feel. The reverse of the quilted section is a very fine, lightweight synthetic tricot-style fabric, believed to be nylon. As expected for a textile of this age, there is some general age-related softening and surface wear to the fabric rather than the uniformly crisp finish of a new textile.
