This is a 3 Notch Lodge, SK Series cast iron skillet, made in the USA. Manufactured between 1940-45, hence the raised molder marks. By the end of WW2, paid by the piece ended, and mass production began.
This skillet is compatible with gas, electric and induction stoves, as it sits dead flat.
It has been stripped and seasoned (3x) with Crisco. It has some stains in the cast iron surface, but they will fade with use and built up seasoning.
It weighs 4 lb 6oz, which is quite a bit lighter than the newer pieces. This skillet is an original piece, not a reproduction.
Perfect size for making breakfast for two, grilled sandwiches, cornbread, etc.
PSA: If you've never had a grilled cheese sandwich on cast iron, you haven't lived at all.
