This is a 3 Notch Lodge #5 cast iron skillet, Made in the USA. Manufactured between 1940-45, hence the raised molder marks. By the end of WW2, paid by the piece ended, and mass production began.
This skillet is only compatible with gas stoves, as it has a slight wobble corrected by two playing cards (see last picture.)
It has been stripped and seasoned (3x) with Crisco.
It weighs 4 lb 6oz, which is quite a bit lighter than the newer pieces. It's comparable in weight to its Wagner equivalent, just doesn't have the milled inside surface. This skillet is an original piece, not a reproduction.
Perfect size for making breakfast for two, grilled sandwiches, cornbread, etc.
PSA: If you've never had a grilled cheese sandwich on cast iron, you haven't lived at all.
