Rare oversized vintage J.W. Dant “Crown Jewel” Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey advertising display bottle.Measuring approximately 24 inches tall, this impressive amber glass bottle was produced as a promotional display for a liquor store, tavern, back bar, or distributor showroom rather than as an ordinary retail whiskey bottle.The bottle retains its large paper label advertising J.W. Dant Genuine Sour Mash Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Bottled in Bond at 100 Proof. The shoulder has a separate “Bottled in Bond—Under U.S. Government Supervision” label, while “Crown Jewel” is embossed prominently around the glass. The label identifies The Dant Distillery Company of Dant/Gethsemane, Nelson County, Kentucky. An oversized period stopper is also included.The graphics, construction, and distillery information suggest a mid-20th-century date, likely around the late 1940s to early 1950s.
