For sale as pictured: a weird vintage 1996 early-internet-age novelty: \"Candy Mouse,\" a package of hard candy tarts in a package shaped like a computer mouse but with a tail like the rodent.Manufactured in a time when \"computer mice\" were sufficiently novel that one might manufacture a candy product based entirely on the correlation between the computer mice and animal mice.
This is the kind of novelty candy you might find at a five-and-dime or dedicated candy store. Manufactured by Amurol Confections - a novelty candy manufacturer owned, at the time, by Wrigley - these were likely an impulse-buy item.
An interesting little piece of both candy and computer history. From a time when home computers were just beginning to give folks access to the online world through dial up modems, the candy package is designed to look roughly like an Apple Macintosh or IBM computer mouse. But, again, with a tail. See photos for details.
