Original Vintage 1992 The Frederica House Restaurant Menu St Simons Island Georgia #2
The Frederica House opened on St. Simons Island in 1980, serving fresh seafood and hand-cut steaks in a building put up with white cedar logs that had originally been fencing timbers used to corral cypress logs floated up from the Florida swampland. It was run by the Mitchell family for more than 45 years - Tom Mitchell, his wife Betty, who checked in customers and bussed tables, their son Tim, and longtime general manager Steve Eckerd. In May 2025 the Mitchells sold the Frederica Road restaurant to Mayte Cruz, owner of Chile Peppers Island Cantina, ending the family\'s run.
