Up for sale is a rare vintage lot of promotional advertising flyers distributed by Mile High Comics in 1991. This lot includes three distinct event advertisements and two original Mile High Comics mailing envelopes with 1991 postmarks.
The first flyer promotes the \"Magnus Robot Fighter Autograph Parties\" celebrating the hottest new title of 1991 from Valiant Comics. It highlights in-person store appearances by writer/editor Jim Shooter and inker Bob Layton from July 19–21, 1991, across various Colorado comic shop locations (Time Warp, The Comic Store, Fantasy Works, and Mile High Comics).
The second piece is a double-sided/two-panel multi-flyer promoting appearance schedules for legendary X-Men writer Chris Claremont (promoting his novels FirstFlight and Grounded from August 26–28) and iconic artist Sam Kieth (celebrating his work on Wolverine, Sandman, Aliens, and Epicurus the Sage from August 16–17).
Included are two original, officially printed Mile High Comics business envelopes (2151 W. 56th Ave, Denver, CO) featuring red 29-cent metered mail stamps postmarked from Denver in 1991, which were originally used to distribute these newsletters/flyers to subscribers.
Condition Notes
Items are in crisp, pre-owned vintage condition. The flyers feature original factory fold lines required for their original mailing. The paper remains bright with sharp black text and graphics. There are no heavy stains, large tears, or major structural damage. The envelopes show typical light wear from original postal handling, including faint edge wrinkling, and the original recipient address labels have been blacked out for privacy.
