Vintage Franklin Mint Franklin Heirloom Glass Jade Glass CH\'I-LIN Guardians of The Ming Dynasty For Your Chinese Jade Glass A very interesting 1980s pair of Jade Glass handmade sculptures representing two dog like animals. One is standing and one is sitting. The animal is the so called CH\'I-LIN one of six animals that were guarding the dead of the Ming Dynasty in China. These two sculptures are part of set of 12 such pieces which were sold by the Franklin Heirloom Glass, a subsidiary of the Franklin mint. The animals are beautiful with lots of details and according to the accompanying literature they were hand sculpted in China specially for the Franklin Mint. The animals came to us with a booklet describing the concepts of the Guardians of the Ming Dynasty and a certificate of authenticity. As part of this sale, we will include a COPY of the two documents. A nice pair of Jade Glass sculptures to add to your collection. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: The piece is undated but the literature is dated 1983 so it is assumed these were produced in the early 1980s.Origin: Purchased at an estate sale in Southeastern Pennsylvania USA. The pieces were made in China and marketed by Franklin Heirloom Glass a subsidiary of Franklin Mint.Size: The standing CH\'I-LIN is ~3 1/4\" long, ~2 3/4\" high, and weighs slightly over 6 ounces, while the sitting CH\'I-LIN is ~3 1/2\" long, ~2 5/8\" high, and weighs about 6.5 ounces. Maker: Franklin Heirloom Glass subsidiary of Franklin Mint.Marks: Has red paper label with gold writing says \"MADE IN CHINA\".Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: A nice and very uncommon pair of glass sculptures to add to your collection of Chinese art glass/Jade Glass.Condition: As part of this sale we will be including a COPY or FACSIMILE (not originals) of the certificate of authenticity issued by Franklin Heirloom Glass that came with the original set as well as a booklet describing the set. Both animals are in very good condition with no cracks, breaks or repairs. Both pieces some minor manufacturing defects such as air bubbles, minor inclusions, some color variations, and some edge roughness. Examination of both pieces revealed very small and hard to see chips especially one on the back of the front leg and along the edge of the front feet of the sitting animal. Be that as it may, the pieces are just fine and worthy of a spot in your collection.
