Up for sale is a beautiful, highly collectible complete matching pair of vintage 1:12 scale Riace Bronze miniatures (Bronzi di Riace).
These figures were produced in Reggio Calabria, Italy, by the renowned specialty workshop F.A.L.A.R.P. during the 1980s \"Bronzomania\" tourism boom following the public unveiling of the restored original ancient Greek masterpieces in 1981.
Key Features:
Solid Alloy Construction:
Unlike cheaper zinc, spelter, or plastic resin reproductions common from this era, these figures are verified solid copper-based alloy (bronze/brass).
Substantial Weight:
Each statue with its stone base weighs approximately 13 ounces, confirming a heavy, high-quality, solid casting instead of a lightweight or hollowed-out imitation.
Complete Paired Set:
Includes both Statue A (The Young Warrior) and Statue B (The Older Warrior).
Intact Original Labels:
Both statues feature their original, fully legible paper labels detailing the historical provenance (\"Bronzo di Riace - V° Secolo a.C. - Reggio Cal. Italy\"), along with the official Italian design copyright mark (mod. dep.).
Display Ready:
Beautifully mounted on original rustic stone travertine/marble blocks.
Condition Details:
Both statues are in great vintage shape with a rich, dark factory-applied antique patina. There is minor surface wear from age to the blocks and one has a chip/chunk from the back corner.
Please review all high-resolution photos carefully as they form part of the visual description. Perfect addition to any European art collection, history enthusiast’s desk, or grand tour aesthetic display!
