Description

A cheerful vintage souvenir mug from Acapulco, Mexico. The front reads “Amor es... Acapulco,” which means “Love is... Acapulco,” above a grid of nine bright hearts in red, blue, yellow and green. It’s a fun throwback to the city’s glamour days as a honeymoon and beach getaway. It would suit a collector of travel mugs or Mexican souvenirs, someone who honeymooned there, or anyone who wants a little retro color with their morning coffee. The bottom is marked “1986” in pen.

Measurements: about 4¼ in tall × 3¼ in across the rim

Condition: Pre-owned, in good vintage condition. There are no chips, cracks or crazing that I could see, and the handle is solid. The hearts and lettering are bright and clear.

• There are scattered tiny dark specks in the glaze, which is typical of stoneware from this period.
• The inside has light coffee staining, mostly near the bottom and one side.
• The bottom has old price-sticker residue and handwriting in pen.
