Up for sale is a beautiful, vintage 1975 cold-cast bronze sculpture titled "Mother and Child" by the acclaimed artist Silvana DeMichelis. Distributed originally through the American Sculpture Society and Arnart, this highly expressive piece features an impressionistic, textured depiction of a seated mother tenderly cradling her infant child.Collector's Note – Exceptionally Low Serial Number:What makes this specific piece highly desirable is its hand-engraved registration number: A 123. Out of a total estimated production run of roughly 5,000 pieces, this is an exceptionally early casting from the absolute beginning of the 1975 release. Early castings are heavily favored by art collectors because they are poured when the structural molds are brand new, capturing the crispest, sharpest details and finest lines before mold degradation occurs.Condition:Excellent vintage condition with a rich, deep, and heavy aged patina. On a different note, I’m a big number person as numbers are special to me. The number 123 in order are just perfect and right another personal thing to mention this was made during Mother’s Day and the date is May 11, 1975 well my birthday is on May 11 and I was born on Mother’s Day. 😊
