Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic vintage Navajo sand painting tile dating back to 1971. This hand-crafted piece features a highly detailed Yei spirit deity representation from traditional Southwestern Native American ceremonial culture.
The painting is created with finely pulverized, multicolored natural sandstones applied to a solid base.
Original Inscription on Reverse:
The back of the piece features a clear, historical handwritten description in red ink detailing the ceremonial significance of the artwork:
\"The Gods of the Night Chant, Holding spruce branches Gourd rattle and ear of Corn. Dance on the last night of the ceremony. 1971.\"
