St. Thomas IslandGovernment PlateVIG T-174This is a pretty rare find.....This is from 1966....Original Government Vehicle License plate from the island of Saint Thomas in the U.S. Virgin IslandsPlate number......VIG T-174The VIG that is vertical to the left of the license plate number stands forVirgin Islands GovernmentThe letter T at the start of the license plate ID number stands for the specific island it was issued on...in this case...St. Thomas(C was used for St. Croix)This is all original....original paint (what remains of it)This is an all metal, stamped plate with 3D raised relief letters and numbers...black on white from 1966Measures 12" x 6"Signs of wear and age....bends, creasing, chips, scratches, minor surface rust in a few spotsSmall sections are missing along the bottom edge where the mounting holes are located (see pics)Its rough....but SUPER RARE so not surprised that it has taken a "beating"
