Vintage 1962 Philip Morris cigarette advertising wall calendar featuring Marlboro and Commander cigarette promotions and illustrated sports legend panels.
The calendar includes small illustrated scenes depicting historic sporting moments and notable athletes, including references to figures such as Yusuf “The Terrible Turk” and heavyweight boxer Bob Fitzsimmons. Several of the illustrations appear signed Clem Boddington, likely the artist responsible for the drawings.
These promotional calendars were commonly distributed by tobacco companies to retailers, bars, and businesses as advertising displays.
