A Legacy of Leadership:
Ben's journey in the Order of the Arrow spanned decades across multiple California lodges:
* Early Youth Leadership:
Long before advising adults in Sacramento, he served as the Youth Lodge Chief for San Gorgonio Lodge #298 down in the San Bernardino area from 1954 to 1955.
* Guiding Mayi Lodge:
After moving into the Golden Empire Council footprint, he stepped into adult advisory roles. Alongside fellow legendary Sacramento-area advisors like Bill Emmons, Guy Wright, and Don Miller, Ben provided counsel, mentorship, and support to the young men (ages 15–20) who led Mayi Lodge.
* The "L1" Advisor:
In historical Mayi Lodge photo archives (such as a well-known group photo taken during an October 1982 event), Ben is preserved in the memories of local Arrowmen as a cornerstone of the adult advisory staff.
His work directly contributed to the solid foundation that Mayi Lodge brought into the 1993 merger, which formed today's active Amangi Nacha Lodge #47.
