Up for sale is an authentic piece of Korean War-era military history: an original 1952 U.S. Marine Corps Recruit Graduation Photograph for Platoon 708, Second Recruit Battalion at M.C.R.D. Parris Island, South Carolina.
This platoon was designated as an Honor Platoon, making the image itself a fantastic find for military historians or genealogical researchers. The text block cleanly displays the leadership names: Sgt. A. D. Crory, S.Sgt. D. C. Jenkins, and Cpl. R. J. Dolman, with the studio credit \"Photo by Moog\".
The piece comes housed in a vintage, mid-century cherry-stained wood frame featuring a distinctive wavy, scalloped outer edge.

This item is being sold As-Is for restoration or display as found:
• Frame & Glass: The vintage wood frame is physically loose at the joints and shows significant cosmetic wear, surface scuffs, and finish chipping along the scalloped edges. Due to the loose frame construction, the glass moves slightly inside the border. The original backing board and hanging twine are present, but the framing pins/tabs require tightening or reinforcement to secure the contents properly. Glass is intact with no cracks.Photograph: The print itself remains in good vintage condition with strong clarity and contrast. There is light, expected uniform age toning and mild discolored matting spots near the left text margin, but the main group portrait is clear.
