Charming vintage Victoria Ceramics Japan miniature porcelain cup and saucer, dating approximately to the 1950s.
This petite set has an unusually decorative design featuring hand-painted pink rose blossoms, a deep pink/magenta border, and extensive gold accents. The tiny footed cup has a dramatic flared square rim, ornate openwork-style gold handle, and mottled/speckled gold decoration around the interior edge. The matching square saucer has gently curved sides with roses at each corner and coordinating gold trim.
Original Victoria Ceramics Japan crown foil label remains on the underside of the saucer.
This is a miniature cup and saucer, considerably smaller than a standard teacup or ordinary demitasse.
Approximate measurements:
Cup: about 1¾–2" tall
Saucer: about 3¼" across
Condition: Good vintage condition with no chips or cracks noted. There is noticeable age-related wear and loss to portions of the gold decoration, particularly around the cup rim and handle, along with minor surface wear consistent with age. Please review photographs closely for condition.
A particularly pretty example of mid-century Japanese export porcelain, ideal for a miniature teacup, vintage Japan, floral porcelain, or doll-size china collection.
