Charming vintage jewelry/keepsake box featuring the whimsical artwork of mid-century cartoonist and author Betty Betz. The lid is playfully labeled “my jool box” and depicts a fashionable woman displaying her jewelry alongside a little dachshund, jewelry pieces and floral accents. Betty Betz’s signature appears at the lower right.
The box is finished in a soft peachy-pink faux leather/vinyl material with embossed floral designs around the sides, a small gold-tone knob and a gold/cream satin-lined interior.
A wonderfully fun piece of 1950s feminine design and a great collectible for fans of Betty Betz, mid-century illustration, vintage vanity accessories or kitschy retro décor.
Condition: Good vintage condition with age-related wear. Exterior has some light scuffs, marks/smudges and general surface wear. Gold-tone knob shows age/tarnish.
