Up for sale is a beautiful, highly collectible vintage Peterson’s Shamrock 14s Straight Billiard smoking pipe, manufactured in Dublin, Ireland.
This piece dates precisely to the Early Republic Era (c. 1950s). It features the historic three-line straight stamp: "A PETERSON PRODUCT" / "MADE IN THE REP." / "OF IRELAND." The "s" in the 14s stamp denotes the desirable factory-straight variation of this classic bowl. Unlike later models with metal bands, this is a classic bandless, direct wood-to-stem fit. The original straight vulcanite stem is explicitly stamped with the vintage "S" at the base.
Condition Details:
• Briar: The briar features a beautiful grain with a warm finish. Please note there is an open sand pit/natural briar pocket directly in the middle of the "SHAMROCK" text stamp on the shank (visible in photos). This is a surface aesthetic flaw common to older fills and does not breach the internal airway.
• Stem: The straight stem is in great structural shape with remarkably minimal oxidation for its age. The button and slot are clean.
• Stamping: The "14s" shape number and the Country of Manufacture stamps are incredibly crisp, deep, and fully legible.
This is a fantastic, smooth-smoking piece of mid-century Peterson history, perfect for a collector or an everyday rotation smoker.
