Up for sale is a vintage 1947 Gillette Aristocrat double edge safety razor set featuring a premium gold plated finish and the classic fat handle design. This vintage set is being sold completely uncleaned and as-is.
The twist to open mechanism functions smoothly and the doors close flush and tight. Most importantly the safety guard bars are completely straight and properly aligned. The gold plating is largely intact with minor vintage patina, light soap residue, and a small spot of verdigris on one of the inner hinges that should clean up with a gentle soak.
The original hard-shell case is included but is in rough condition. The exterior shows shelf wear and the interior burgundy silk and velvet lining are heavily worn, stained, and deteriorating in the bottom tray. It serves perfectly as a protective container or historical placeholder. Please review all photos carefully to see the exact condition of the razor and case.
