This classic August image depicts a glamorous blonde Varga Girl posing in a sheer white swimsuit with a flower in her hair. The page includes the playful original verse:
“Each August Varga poses me
Arrayed like this . . . and so . . .
We asked if we should vary things—
(A million males cried: ‘No!’)”
Vargas’ elegant Varga Girls became some of the most recognizable American pin-up illustrations of the 1940s. Originally published for Esquire, these calendar pages are now highly collectible examples of Golden Age pin-up and mid-century illustration art.

Condition:
Good vintage condition overall. The central artwork remains attractive with very good color and strong display appeal. There is noticeable age discoloration/staining along the lower left edge, a small pink/red mark in the left field, and wear/torn areas along the upper edge where the page was removed from its original calendar. Light toning and other minor handling wear are present consistent with age. Please review all photographs carefully for condition details.
