Released in January 1943, Coal Black was designed as a hot-jazz parody of Disney's Snow White, featuring musical inspirations from Duke Ellington and energetic animation by Rod Scribner. Withdrawn from distribution in 1968 as part of the "Censored Eleven," authentic vintage promotional media from this film is exceptionally scarce and highly sought after by animation archivists and film historians.
