Offered here is an authentic, highly collectible World War II U.S> Military M1916 leather Pistol Holster. Fits Colt M1911 and M1911A1 .45 ACP semi-automatic pistols.This piece features a very clear desirable maker stamp on the back reading \"CRUMP 1942\".Unlike mass-contract variants like Boyt or Sears, the Benjamin T. CRUMP company produced M1916 holsters in much smaller quantities during the 1942 wartime push, making this a genuinely scarce find for serious militaria collectors.Original Finish: This holster retains its authentic, rich vintage brown leather color. It happily voided the common post-war military directive after 1956 to dye older brown leather gear black, preserving its true WWII-era appearance and collector value.Embossing & Markings: The iconic \"US\" oval emblem on the front flap is cleanly embossed and plainly visible. The manufacturer stamp on the back remains perfectly legible.Leather Quality: The leather shows standard field patina, minor surface scuffs, and character lines, but remains structurally sound and intact with no severe cracking or structural compromises.Hardware and Build: Equipped with the original brass/bronze closure stud on the front and dual belt slots on the rear. The stitching is tight and original throughout, with clean edges and standard wear consistent with age and service.Hardware Patina: The original brass closure stud shows natural aging and typical verdigris oxidation where the metal meets the leather. I have wiped off some, but not all of the green verdigris and will leave the final cleaning up to the new owner.
