Orig 1941 Coca Cola Tin Sign Girl With Bottle Pre War AAW 12-41 Self Framed SST
Item Description
Up for sale is a 100% original, guaranteed authentic 1941 Coca-Cola single-sided self-framed tin (SST) sign featuring the classic brunette (Betty) in the green jacket enjoying a bottle of Coke.
This sign dates directly to December 1941, clearly stamped A.A.W. - 12 - 41 (American Art Works) in the lower-left corner and MADE IN U.S.A. along the bottom edge. Produced the very month the United States entered World War II, this was the final run of pre-war metal advertising right before nationwide wartime metal rationing forced Coca-Cola and other brands to switch production over to Masonite, pressed board, and cardboard displays.
* Authenticity: Guaranteed 100% original 1941 vintage; no reproduction, reprint, or fantasy piece.
* Maker & Date Code: American Art Works – December 1941 (A.A.W. - 12 - 41).
* Exact Dimensions: Measures 27 inches wide by 19 inches tall (confirmed on tape measure in photos).
* Color & Gloss: For a piece that is 85 years old, the color and gloss on this sign are outstanding. The rich Coca-Cola red still shines, and the graphic of the girl ("Betty") is clean, vibrant, and displays great wall appeal.
* Condition & Patina: It shows honest age and character from decades of display. There are a few extra nail/mounting holes through the field, along with a crinkle/bend running through the center area above the script and bottle, plus a few scattered shallow dings and dimples across the tin (visible on the face and highlighted in the photos of the reverse side). There is typical paint chipping around the mounting points, scuffing, and edge/perimeter wear on the self-framed border. Please inspect all high-resolution photos closely, as they give an exact, transparent view of the condition and patina.
