A genuine 1940 commemorative medal issued by the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC) for their Golden Jubilee, marking 50 years since the organization's 1890 founding. This medal was awarded to women selected as "Pioneer Club Women" by their local or state federation, honoring long service to the club movement.
The badge features a wreathed ribbon bar reading "Selected as Pioneer Club Woman By ___" (blank space for the presenting club/federation to inscribe), suspended above a round pendant medallion depicting a pioneer woman and child, inscribed "Honoring the Past for the Future's Enlightenment" and "The Pioneer Woman." The reverse of the medallion reads "Golden Jubilee 1890–1940, General Federation of Women's Clubs" around a shield crest.
