This is a vintage 1937 Wheaties \"Breakfast of Champions\" milk glass cereal bowl featuring red silhouettes and names of prominent 1930s athletes. Red graphics showcase sports figures of the era with such names as Babe Didrikson, Jack Armstrong, and Jane Fauntz. This product offered as a mail-in promotional item by General Mills with Wheaties breakfasts cereal in 1937. Customers could get the bowl for free by mailing in a specific number of Wheaties box tops. Produced by Hazel Atlas as a premium for General Mills (the bowl is not backstamped).
This bowl measures 5\" in diameter x 2-1/2\" deep. Because it is made of thick, heavyweight milk glass, it feels quite solid and heavy for its size compared to a standard modern ceramic cereal bowl.
This bowl is in great condition. Red graphics are solid, clear and bright; glass is clean and glossy white.
