Such an adorable little survivor from 1931!
This whimsical die cut calendar features a sweet grandmother reading beside a black cat while a full clothesline of monthly laundry pieces lift up to reveal tiny calendars and cheerful sayings underneath. The graphics are wonderfully colorful and full of old-fashioned charm — exactly the kind of piece that makes people smile.
Each clothing piece lifts to reveal a hidden monthly calendar and rhyme for that month of 1931. It can either hang from the attached metal ring or stand upright using the original paper easel backing. A fantastic display piece for farmhouse, cottage, vintage kitchen, laundry room, black cat, or folk art decor.
Condition is very good overall for a delicate paper item from the early 1930s. Shows expected age-related wear including light creasing, bends, small tears, edge wear, age toning, and minor handling wear. Some foxing/spotting visible on the reverse. The paper easel and hanging ring remain present. Colors still display beautifully. No overwhelming old odors noted.
